You can reach all the main sites with a pleasant walk or you can take the metro in Piazza della Repubblica, that is at about 100 meters distance from the apartment. With only one stop of the metro you can reach the "Termini" Central Railway Station where you can catch the train heading to Fiumicino airport.

This apartment is located in the Monti area, between the Colosseum and the Quirinale, that is the President's Palace. Useless to say something about the Colosseum, as maybe it's the most famous monument worldwide. Less known, but not less interesting is the nearby church of San Pietro in Vincoli with the Statue of Moses made by Michelangelo Buonarotti. This area is the most ancient of Rome, and with its monuments and vestiges from antiquity offers a fairly complete overview of the city's different periods, from the Republican to the Imperial period, and from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance and Baroque, a succession of styles that covers 2500 years of history. Nowadays this area is full of craftsman workshops, art galleries, restaurants, bars, night clubs and for the shopping you can find all you need in via Nazionale.
