The apartment is located in the western part of the Trastevere district. The majority of the most important monuments and historical sites can be easily reached with a few stops of the tram line n°8: the "Bocca della Verità", Circo Massimo, Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere, Campo dè Fiori.
To arrive at the apartment from Fiumicino airport take the train line FR1 heading Settebagni and go out after 5 stops in Trastevere. Then walk for about 400 meters.

The area called Trastevere, from Latin "Trans Tiberim", across the Tiber, was the first to be inhabited on the western banks of the river Tevere. Its emblem is a Lion's head on a red background. It's the largest quarter in central Rome. It is connected with the eastern banks of the river by 5 bridges. In that area the Roman emperor Augusto built the stadium for the games of ship battles. The church of Santa Maria in Trastevere, the first to be dedicated to the cult of the Madonna, is one of the most ancient in Rome. This neighbourhood is full of interesting sites and trendy bars and restaurants. |
