The apartment is located in Monteverde, a very quiet area nearby Trastevere. With the tram line number 8 you can easily reach the historical centre. Get off in Largo Argentina and from here many of the most important monuments and historical sites are within a walking distance: Piazza Navona, Campo dè Fiori, the Pantheon.
To arrive at the apartment from Fiumicino airport take the train line FR1 heading Settebagni and get off after 5 stops in Trastevere Station. Then take the tram line number 8 (towards Casaletto)and get off after 1 stop. Finally walk for about 400 meters.

The area called Trastevere, from Latin "Trans Tiberim", across the Tiber, was the first to be inhabited on the western banks of the river Tevere. Its emblem is a Lion's head on a red background. It's the largest quarter in central Rome. It is connected with the eastern banks of the river by 5 bridges. In that area the Roman emperor Augusto built the stadium for the games of ship battles. The church of Santa Maria in Trastevere, the first to be dedicated to the cult of the Madonna, is one of the most ancient in Rome. This neighbourhood is full of interesting sites and trendy bars and restaurants. |
